Design and aerodynamic performance analyses of the self-starting H-type VAWT having J-shaped aerofoils considering various design parameters using CFD

چکیده

Although the J-shaped aerofoil is a possible solution to enhance torque generation at low tip speed ratios, effect of on overall and dynamic start-up performances H-type VAWT has not been extensively studied. Therefore, for first time, present study aimed exploring impact with different values opening ratio performance considering design parameters. The results show that model needed fully examine self-starting capability instead using calculated torque/power coefficients constant ratios. In addition, while located inner surface does bring any benefit, turbine ability increases increase in ratio. Furthermore, there noticeable enhancement starting when thicker NACA0018 employed, reversed version cambered aerofoils demonstrates better compared their original profiles. Additionally, having slightly positive pitch angle (β=2°) found have ability.
